I am trying to install Visio for Enterprise Architects so that I can
forward-engineer a data model changes to my database. I have both Visual
Studio 2005 and Visual Studio 2008 installed as well as Microsoft Office
Visio 2003.

I have attempted to install both Visio for Enterprise Architects 2003 and
2005. When I run the VEA 2003 installer, I receive the error message:

- "You must first install Visual Studio .NET 2003 Enterprise Architect".

And when I try to install VEA 2005, I get the error message:

- "You must first install one of the qualified Visual Studio editions."

Is there a way that I can get one of these two versions installed? Please
help!

Thanks in advance,

Mervin

The version of "office" is often only incidental to visio.

There is not VEA version for vs2008, nor will there be (based on comments
elsewhere). Even if there was, the vs2008 has not been released for team
(architect) usage other than beta. So that solution is moot.

Visio (enterprise architect) has to be mated with the appropriate visual
studio enterprise architect edition, so you should use the image from the
install media for visual studio. In your description the vs2005 cdrom. The
message is complaining that you don't have vs2003 installed.
